Inklings Suggest Game Pass Crossing the 30 Million Subscribers Mark

Microsoft has not released any official subscriber count for Game Pass since disclosing that the service had over 25 million users last year. However, Xbox team members, including boss Phil Spencer, have stated that the number has grown. 

Today, a clue about the current count came from Xbox marketing executive Craig McNary, who stated on his LinkedIn profile that Game Pass had more than 30 million users as of August. This was noticed and screengrabbed by Tumur222 on X. McNary removed the figure from his profile when it began circulating on social media, indicating it was not meant for public release.

As an Xbox executive, McNary would likely have accurate information, suggesting his stated figure may be accurate. With the recent launch of Xbox Game Pass Core, which auto-converts all Xbox Live Gold subscribers to Core, a significant increase in Game Pass subscribers is expected. This might encourage Microsoft to release an official update on subscriber numbers.
