Shari Lynn Kramer / 20 Oct 2024
At the recent New York Comic-Con panel, Blumhouse showcased several exciting reveals, including the debut trailer for Wolf Man and the first poster for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, among other highlights.
The Wolf Man trailer served as the primary focus, giving audiences a thrilling glimpse into this remake of the iconic Universal horror film. In the footage, viewers witness Blake, portrayed by Christopher Abbot, as he experiences a chilling transformation following a monster encounter, while his wife Charlotte, played by Julia Garner, strives to safeguard their daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth). This trailer follows a teaser released in September, and notably, it offers minimal glimpses of the film's central creature, leading to a mixed response from fans upon its initial announcement.
Alongside the Wolf Man trailer, the panel introduced the first look at the poster for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which highlights one of the beloved animatronic characters peering out from behind a curtain, accompanied by a release date of December 5, 2025.
During the event, Jason Blum, the founder of Blumhouse, shared insights about the studio's future projects, which encompass titles such as Drop, The Black Phone 2, The Monster, Mortal Kombat 2, and The Conjuring 4. Although M3GAN 2.0 details were sparse, it was hinted to be "bigger and more expansive," having recently concluded filming. Notably, M3GAN made an appearance in a video message for the NYCC audience, teasing her upcoming release on June 25.
Beyond these notable announcements, New York Comic-Con continues to captivate attendees with first-look trailers like Dune Prophecy, among various other events. Stay connected for further updates, and be sure to check out the comprehensive roundup of all announcements from NYCC.
