Spotify Partners With Shopify to Add Artist Merch Stores

The number one music streaming service Spotify released information about the new partnership with e-commerce platform provider Shopify on Wednesday last week. Thanks to this, the community of music creators will be able to promote their content more comfortably because the Shopify store will link with their Spotify profiles. Now you can see the product list from the Shopify store in the profile of musicians and make a purchase without leaving the app.
Collaboration Features
According to one of Shopify’s directors, this update aims to improve the sales conditions for artists in the media space. Online content monetization is a pressing issue for all content creators. Thankfully with a new purchasing feature on the Spotify platform, users will be able to support their favorite artists.
But that’s not all the features this collaboration can offer. The Shopify platform has the resources to deal with massive traffic spikes when, for example, a super-popular album is released or when a track becomes a huge hit. Moreover, the commercial platform will allow musicians to use more features to expand their audience, such as discovery tools or enable other services.
Shopify Integration Experience
It is safe to assume that such a move from both platforms will be successful because Shopify already has experience in collaboration with other companies. For example, Merchbar now has a contract with Spotify. Spotify benefits from this collaboration as well as Shopify but in different service areas.
The update for the Spotify app is unfortunately not available worldwide. Regions like Canada, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia will be able to try out these new features. What do you think about this partnership? Is this how you want to support your favorite performers? You can leave your comments below and share the article with your friends and family!
