Bureau 81 Teases Potential Sequel to The Operator and Future Improvements

Bureau 81 has announced their desire to create a follow-up to their narrative-puzzler game, The Operator. Releasing on July 22, the game places players in the role of a computer operative aiding field agents. As it becomes available for PC next week, the game's creator, Bastien Giafferi, shared his enthusiasm for a sequel in a recent interview, revealing some of his plans and ideas for the future installment.
The Operator features a definitive conclusion, which was Giafferi's intention. However, the opportunity to develop a sequel still exists. Giafferi mentioned having numerous ideas that could not be incorporated into the original game, either due to complexity or the 1992 setting, which lacked modern technology like cell phones and smartphones. These unused concepts could be utilized if a sequel happens, and Giafferi expressed strong interest in exploring them in a follow-up game.
The interview also touches on Bureau 81's future initiatives, such as adding controller support for The Operator and possibly releasing it on consoles.
